Excalibur II!

So anyone has got Excalibur? I missed it with 12 minutes ... I tried many times again from near savegames and best I got was 9 minutes. Darn I was mad ... but then I took my friend's save-game which had the challenge done and started enjoying Excalibur's ownage!

nope, i have never got the excalibur, it kinda sucks cos my friend has it and says its great, but i fail whenever i try to get it.

In case if you start a new game to only get the sword it kind of ruins the experience, in my eyes. I have always enjoyed all the cutscenes and things in FF IX, even if I could retell them all by heart. And so if I tried to get it, I watched few cutscenes here and there and in the end it cost me success

I've thought about trying to get it, but I really don't see the point, yeah it's the strongest weapon on the game, yeah it is a good reward. But it ruins the whole game, I don't want to rush through the entire game for one sword, I don't mind Ragnarok or Excalibur anyway, and I never really use Steiner tbh.
Also it would require a lot of patience which I don't have really, and basically a level 1 game playthough because you have no time to level.

You would need to level up really quickly or not at all... You would need Level 5 death early on and go hunting Grand Dragons... Or save that til after you get the sword. Besides some of the bosses would be to awkward to kill without being well prepared... It seems like the benefit of the sword is NOT worth the hassle of trying to get to it within 12 hours! I mean you'd have to skip ALL cutscenes, and ATE's which then defeats the point of playing the game, I wouldn't play the game just to get the sword and miss out on the storyline... I'd rather play the game for the storyline.

Yeah, but most-likely when you ever try the challenge, you have completed and enjoyed FF IX enough times and would be fine to skip everything for a single thing for 12 hours And well, challenge fans don't care about story very much

I hope maybe that will help you out, but honestly, I've never even really cared to try and get it. Ruins to much for me.
